I enjoy the club because I am interested in all the different equipment that other members use and I appreciate seeing all the wildlife and other pictures of the natural world. I particularly like the pictures that show intricate details of the different shapes and colours of birds and flowers. I also like to see the habitats, the faraway ones and the ones nearby as I haven’t seen most of them. I am a member of the Wildlife and Wetlands Trust and like to visit Slimbridge. I go to Scotland touring and I hope to see a golden eagle one day. My main hobbies are model boats and aeroplanes so I take more pictures of them than of wildlife. My present camera is a Panasonic Lumix DMC FZ18.

My hobby is making pictures from digital photos. I use other people’s photos as well as my own to make greetings cards, albums and posters. I challenged myself to print my cards on recycled card. Some montages have combined 20 or more photographs into a single design. I have done digital photography courses with Ffotogallery and the Open University and thus developed techniques for playing with my photos using Photoshop 7. My present camera is a Canon EOS 1000D camera with lenses f/3.5-5.6 IS and F/1:4-5.6 IS. It is my first SLR and I now enjoy developing my images in RAW with Digital Photo Professional. I put some of my pictures on flickr and on my own website. I have enjoyed learning to use the software (Contribute and Dreamweaver) so that I can help with this club website.

My home is Maesteg in the Llynfi Valley, I’ve had a lifelong interest in nature and birdwatching became my main hobby in the mid ‘90s. My interest in photography goes back to the late ‘70s when I used two 35mm SLR cameras with a selection of lenses. I combined birdwatching and photography in 2004 when I started “digi-scoping” using compact digital cameras with my telescope. In November 2009 I purchased my first digital SLR the new Canon EOS 7D with a Canon 18-135mm zoom and Sigma 150-500mm zoom as my “wildlife” lens. In July 2011 I added a Canon f4 500mm IS prime lens which coupled with a 1.4x extender has become my main “wildlife” lens. Accessories include a Velbon tripod and Manfrotto monopod ,I use Photoshop Elements 8 and Canon Digital Professional for image processing. I am a member of WWT, RSPB and Glamorgan Bird Club, I participate in local birding “blogs” and have contributed images to newsletters and annual bird reports. I recently had a Little Owls image published in the RSPB Spring 2012 “Y Barcud”.
I am always willing to learn and enjoy the company of more experienced photographers who are willing to share their knowledge.

I first became interested in wildlife after marrying Margaret, and wish I had paid more attention when travelling the world in the Fleet Air Arm. Not really a still photographer, but use our Panasonic NVGS250 camcorder. We also have Panasonic Lumix DMC-FS16 for digiscoping although its not brilliant for digiscoping its handy for carrying around in a pocket for macro  and landscape shots. Since retirement have become a keen wildlife watcher and belong to Wildlife Trust of South & West Wales where we volunteer, Glamorgan Bird Club, Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust and Cardiff Naturalists Society. We have spent a lot of time in Australia visiting relatives and friends.

I have been interested in wildlife all my life, and photography since I was given my first camera as a child.  Wildlife photography is easier now that digital cameras are available. At the moment my husband John and I have a Sony A380, a Fujifilm Finepix S8100, and a S5000 with a 1.5.converter. Also a Panasonic NVGS250 video camera.
We like walking and find the heavy long lenses are not suitable for us, especially on our trips abroad.  My hobbies are birdwatching and handicrafts which are combined when making cards or paintings from my photographs.
We volunteer for the Wildlife Trust of South & West Wales, and belong to Cardiff Naturalists Society, Glamorgan Bird Club and Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust..

I have been interested in ornithology since school and a bird watcher ever since. I am also a keen amateur photographer (first SLR camera in 1972) and my main interest is wildlife photography (mainly birds, butterflies and dragonflies). In 1998, I bought a video camera and have 12 years experience of filming wildlife. I converted to digital in 2006 and upgraded to HD digital video in 2009. I enjoy travelling and combine these interests to photograph and video wildlife locally and worldwide. I support the Glamorgan Bird Club, Cardiff Naturalists’ Society, WWT and RSPB. I enjoy presenting my photographs and video as illustrated talks to our club members and other local groups. I have 25 years of computing experience, edit my own photos/video and compile my own presentations (Powerpoint, Adobe and Roxio Creator for DVD and BlueRay HD). Current equipment: Panasonic 3CCD AVCHD video camera (HS900) plus Kowa TSN 604ED Scope and TSN-VA1 Adapter; Canon DSLR (EOS7D, 300mm f/4L IS, 70-200mm f/2.8L, 180mm f/3.5L macro, extenders (1.4x, 2.0x) and EF25 tubes); Manfrotto tripods (055NAT, 745MF3) and heads (128RC, 503HDV).

I began my interest in photography during my student days.  I was the proud owner of an old-stye Leica then which I used for many years to record my walking and climbing holidays. I eventually purchased an SLR camera, a Minolta, which was more suitable for photographing wildlife, especially flowers and in particular our native orchids.  About five years ago I progressed, after much deliberation, to a digital camera and now a Sony A700.  Now that I have got into the digital field I feel my interest has been stimulated, something which is good to share with other members of the Club. I regularly give talks to orchid and horticultural groups and am on the British Orchid Society list of lecturers. With the Sony camera I use a 16-80mm Zeiss lens, a 100mm Macro lens and recently a 70-300mm lens

I have been interested in wildlife photography for as long as I can remember. I photograph all aspects of the natural world but my main interest is in Wild Flower and Fungi photography.
I enjoy travelling in pursuit of my interests and have photographed plants on five of the seven continents from sea level to breathlessly high Alpine Meadows.
Current equipment is a Nikon D300 with an 85mm Micro Nikkor lens, a Nikon 70-300 lens, and a Manfrotto 190B tripod When I can’t be bothered with a heavy bag of gear I carry a Panasonic LX3 compact, a remarkable little camera.
